Direct purchase of commercial non-food stock

Sell surplus business stock

Does your organisation have overstock, residual stock lots, returns stock, discontinued models or other non-food stock that no longer fits its normal operations?

Present your stock to Stock & Trade. We assess the options ourselves and discuss which form of direct purchase is the best fit. Items that may seem less attractive individually can also form part of the submission.

Commercial stock

From surplus stock to a clear solution

When an agreement is reached, we take the agreed stock for our own account and at our own risk. Payment and transfer are clearly recorded. If required, we can arrange collection and transport of the goods actually purchased, with clear arrangements concerning timing, destination markets, sales channels and brand presentation.

Stock that no longer fits regular sales can continue to tie up capital, storage space and internal capacity. This can result from changing demand, product range changes, returns flows, cancelled orders, discontinued models or structural surpluses.

Stock & Trade turns this into a specific purchase question. We assess the composition, quantities, condition, location and any resale conditions. On that basis, we determine which stock we can purchase directly and under which arrangements.

You do not need to preselect the stock based on saleability. The combination of items with different turnover rates, conditions or quantities can be precisely what makes a suitable overall solution possible.

When an agreement is reached, we provide a clear process:

  • one offer for the agreed stock;
  • direct purchase for our own account and at our own risk;
  • clear arrangements for payment and transfer;
  • coordination of collection and transport of the goods actually purchased;
  • compliance with agreed destination markets, sales channels and brand requirements.

This turns stock that demands internal time, space and attention into a manageable and practical solution.

Commercial stock

What stock can be submitted?

Stock & Trade assesses a wide range of commercial non-food stock. This may be one complete stock lot, several product groups or a recurring stock flow.

Common situations include:

  • overstock and structural surpluses;
  • residual and slow-moving stock;
  • returns stock, B-stock and products with packaging damage;
  • discontinued models and product range changes;
  • residual seasonal stock;
  • project surplus and cancelled orders;
  • stock from warehouse moves or reorganisations;
  • recurring returns or surplus-stock flows.

The stock may vary in product group, quantity, condition and turnover rate. Preferably share the complete overview so that we can assess the relationships within it and investigate whether an overall solution is possible.

Whether a stock lot is suitable for direct purchase depends on factors including the products, quantities, condition, value, location and any conditions that apply to onward sale.

Commercial stock

Share the complete stock offered

A good assessment starts with a complete picture. Preferably share the full, clearly defined stock offered, even if it consists of different product groups, conditions, quantities or turnover rates.

Do not preselect only the items you consider attractive. Less popular products, small quantities and damaged packaging can, in combination with the rest of the stock, become part of a workable overall solution.

For an initial assessment, we would like to receive:

  • the products or product groups;
  • the quantities and conditions;
  • the reason the stock is available;
  • the current stock location;
  • the preferred sales timeframe;
  • a stock list and photos, if available;
  • any price indication excluding VAT.

Not all information available yet? Share what you already have. A mixed, unsorted or not yet fully inventoried lot can also be submitted. We will then explain which additional information is required.

You share the complete overview. We assess the options.

Commercial stock

One-off stock lots and recurring stock flows

Stock may become available once or form part of a recurring flow. Stock & Trade assesses both situations and adapts the approach to the source, composition and preferred handling.

One-off stock lots

A one-off stock lot may result from a product range change, project surplus, cancelled order, warehouse move or reorganisation. We assess the complete stock and, when an agreement is reached, make clear arrangements concerning price, payment, transfer, onward sale and, where applicable, collection and transport of the goods purchased.

Recurring stock flows

Do returns, B-stock, residual seasonal stock or other surpluses arise periodically? We can then agree a recurring assessment and potential purchase process. This includes recording what information is needed, how often stock is submitted and which conditions apply to transfer, any collection of the goods purchased and onward sale.

Whether it concerns one lot or a recurring flow, we assess which solution is commercially and practically feasible.

Commercial stock

Direct purchase for our own account and at our own risk

Stock & Trade acts as the direct buyer of the agreed stock. We are not an intermediary and do not first look for another buyer on your behalf.

Once an agreement is reached, we clearly record the price, payment terms, transfer, timing and any resale conditions. We then take the stock for our own account and at our own risk.

For your organisation, this means:

  • one professional party as buyer;
  • no dependence on sales to individual end customers;
  • arrangements for payment and transfer recorded in advance;
  • assumption of stock, market and sales risk;
  • collection and transport of the goods actually purchased arranged where required;
  • arrangements for destination markets, sales channels and brand presentation where necessary.

This provides advance clarity about the commercial and operational handling of the stock.

Assessment, offer, payment and logistics

Every stock submission is assessed on its merits. Submitting a form never automatically leads to an offer or purchase. We review the stock offered, ask additional questions where required and then discuss the options.

1. Assessing the stock

We assess the products, quantities, condition, location, available information and preferred sales timeframe, among other factors. We also consider any conditions relating to destination markets, sales channels and brand presentation.

2. Discussion and offer

When the stock is a suitable fit, we discuss the practical and commercial principles. On that basis, you receive a specific offer for the stock we can purchase.

3. Clear arrangements

When an agreement is reached, we record the price, payment terms, point of transfer, timing and any resale conditions. Both parties therefore know in advance what to expect.

4. Transfer and logistics

We agree how and when the stock will be transferred. If required, Stock & Trade can arrange collection and transport of the goods actually purchased. The loading method, timing, responsibilities and any costs are agreed in advance. After the agreed transfer, we take the purchased stock for our own account and at our own risk.

From the initial assessment through transfer and any transport of the goods purchased, you have one professional point of contact.

Commercial stock

Discretion, destination markets and resale conditions

Selling stock can affect existing distribution channels, price positioning and brand presentation. Clear arrangements can therefore be made in advance concerning the assessment, purchase and onward sale of the stock.

Confidential assessment

Information about available stock is handled carefully and used to assess it, conduct necessary follow-up and complete a potential purchase. Where the nature of the stock or organisation requires it, additional confidentiality arrangements can be recorded.

Arrangements for onward sale

Depending on the situation, arrangements can be made concerning:

  • countries or regions in which the stock may or may not be sold;
  • permitted sales channels;
  • the date on which the stock may be placed back on the market;
  • brand, product and packaging presentation;
  • any removal of labels or other identifiable elements, to the extent permitted by law and without removing mandatory product or safety information;
  • other commercial conditions relevant to onward sale.

We assess in advance whether the requested conditions are commercially, legally and operationally feasible. Arrangements that form part of the purchase are clearly recorded before the stock is transferred.

This enables us to combine a practical stock solution with due consideration for brand, channel and reputational interests.

Commercial stock

Which organisations and categories?

Stock & Trade works with professional organisations that own the stock and can independently decide on its sale. The stock's actual potential matters more than the type of organisation.

Organisations we work with

We assess stock offered by organisations including:

  • manufacturers and brand owners;
  • importers and distributors;
  • wholesalers;
  • retail and e-commerce organisations;
  • service, returns and refurbishment organisations.

This may be an independent company, European head office or group company with its own stock and decision-making authority.

Product categories

Stock & Trade focuses particularly on:

  • HVAC and climate technology, such as air conditioning and heat pumps;
  • tools;
  • garden machinery;
  • workshop equipment and machinery.

Other professionally marketable non-food stock can also be submitted. Does your stock not clearly fall within one of these categories? Share the complete stock offered anyway. We will assess whether there are sufficient commercial and logistical options.

It is not the label applied to your organisation or stock, but the complete commercial and practical situation that determines what is possible.

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions about selling commercial stock

What stock can I submit to Stock & Trade?

We assess commercial non-food stock, including overstock, residual stock, returns stock, B-stock, discontinued models, residual seasonal stock and project surplus. Other professionally marketable non-food stock can also be submitted.

Do I need to select the items that are of interest in advance?

No. Preferably share the complete stock offered. Different products, conditions and quantities can together create a workable overall solution.

Is there a minimum quantity or stock value?

There is no fixed public threshold. The options depend on the product group, quantities, condition, value, location and logistical feasibility. Smaller quantities may also be relevant where the item value is higher or they form part of a broader stock submission.

Do you also purchase returns, B-stock or products with damaged packaging?

Yes, provided the products can be marketed safely, legally and commercially. Clearly state their condition, any defects and the available product information so that we can assess the stock carefully.

Do you purchase the stock yourselves?

Yes. When an agreement is reached, Stock & Trade acts as the direct buyer and takes the agreed stock for its own account and at its own risk. We are not an intermediary that first looks for another buyer on your behalf.

What information do you need?

For an initial assessment, we would like a stock list, quantities, condition, location, photos, the preferred sales timeframe and any price indication excluding VAT. If not everything is available yet, you can start by sharing what you already have.

Do you also arrange transport?

If required, Stock & Trade can arrange collection and transport of the goods actually purchased. Timing, loading method, responsibilities and any costs are agreed and recorded in advance. We are not a removals or clearance company and do not automatically take over the full contents or inventory of a warehouse.

Can we impose conditions on onward sale?

This may be open to discussion. Examples include arrangements concerning countries, sales channels, market introduction, brand presentation or the legally permitted removal of labels. We assess in advance whether these conditions are commercially, legally and operationally feasible.

Is submitting stock immediately binding?

No. A submission is a request for assessment and does not automatically lead to an offer or purchase. An agreement only comes into effect once both parties have expressly accepted the price and all other conditions.

Do you also purchase recurring stock flows?

Yes. Where returns, B-stock, residual seasonal stock or other surpluses arise periodically, we can investigate a structured relationship with standing arrangements for assessment, transfer and, where applicable, collection and transport of the goods purchased.
