1. Submit the stock
You share the available stock overview and the information known about the items, quantities, condition, location and product documentation. We prefer to receive the complete stock offered so that we can assess it as a whole.
A clear process for purchasing commercial stock
When you submit commercial non-food stock, you want to know in advance what will happen to your enquiry. Stock & Trade therefore follows a clear process: from the initial assessment and any additional checks to a specific offer and the implementation of the agreements made.
You share the information available. We assess the stock offered and agree with you what the next step will be. Only when both organisations have reached agreement do we finalise the arrangements for price, payment and transfer.

Commercial stock
A sound assessment starts with a complete picture of the stock offered. Where possible, share your current stock overview and state what is known about the items, quantities, condition, location and available product information.
Not every detail needs to be worked out when the stock is first submitted. If information is missing or needs clarification, we identify which additional details, documents, photographs or checks are necessary.
Based on the overall picture, we assess whether the stock is commercially and practically suitable and whether there is a basis for working towards a purchase offer. This keeps any further investigation focused solely on the points relevant to that stock.
Commercial stock
You share the available stock overview and the information known about the items, quantities, condition, location and product documentation. We prefer to receive the complete stock offered so that we can assess it as a whole.
Our buying team assesses whether the stock is commercially and practically suitable for Stock & Trade. We consider factors including the product mix, volumes, current market relevance, condition, saleability and potential routes to market. This initial assessment determines how the process continues.
If information is missing or parts of the stock need further checks, we ask for specific additional information. This may include photographs, documents, serial numbers, product specifications or a physical inspection. Not every stock lot requires the same level of verification.
If a direct purchase is possible, you receive an offer for the stock that Stock & Trade can buy. It sets out, among other things, the goods concerned, the purchase price, the assumptions used, the period of validity and any conditions.
When agreement is reached, we record the final arrangements. We confirm which stock will be purchased and agree the payment, transfer, transport, timetable and any conditions for onward sale. Submitting and assessing stock do not in themselves constitute a final purchase.
Payment and transfer are carried out in accordance with the agreements made. If Stock & Trade coordinates transport, we agree the practical arrangements for preparing, loading and collecting the purchased goods with you. From the agreed points in time, we assume the responsibilities set out and take care of further commercial processing.
Not every stock submission automatically passes through all six steps. After each stage, we make clear whether additional information is needed and what happens next.
Commercial stock
The initial assessment is based on the information provided. Additional verification may be needed if important details are missing, inconsistent or do not provide sufficient certainty about the stock that may be purchased.
This may apply in cases involving:
Depending on the situation, the checks may involve additional documents, current photographs or videos, a sample check, digital verification or a physical inspection on site. We tailor the scope of the checks to the nature, value and complexity of the stock offered.
If the verification reveals relevant differences, we reassess which goods and conditions are commercially feasible. Any purchase offer is based on the information and assumptions that are ultimately established.
Commercial stock
After the assessment and any verification, we clearly state which outcome applies to the stock offered.
If the complete stock offered is commercially and practically suitable, Stock & Trade may make a specific offer to purchase the entire lot.
If the complete stock is not suitable, we can discuss whether a coherent and clearly defined part can be purchased. The offer will then specify exactly which items, quantities or product groups the purchase covers. A partial purchase only takes place if it is workable for both organisations.
If there is still insufficient certainty about matters such as composition, condition, origin or saleability, we first ask for specific additional information or verification. No final purchase offer is made at that stage.
If the stock is not sufficiently suitable or cannot responsibly be purchased, we will state that Stock & Trade cannot make a suitable offer. Submitting and assessing the stock creates no obligation for either organisation to buy or sell.
Commercial stock
Submitting stock to Stock & Trade is not a final sale. An initial assessment, a request for additional information or verification does not oblige your organisation to sell or Stock & Trade to buy the stock.
If a direct purchase is possible, you receive a specific offer. It records which goods and quantities will be purchased, the purchase price, how long the offer remains valid and the applicable conditions.
The sale becomes binding once both organisations have validly accepted the offer and its conditions, any stated preconditions have been met and Stock & Trade has expressly confirmed the purchase by email from info@stockandtrade.nl, inkoop@stockandtrade.nl or floris@stockandtrade.nl. One confirmation from any one of these addresses is sufficient.
Changes in quantities, composition, condition or availability before final agreement must be reported. If those changes affect the assumptions, the offer may be adjusted or reassessed.
A binding agreement only arises after mutual acceptance of the defined stock, price and conditions.
Commercial stock
The time between the initial stock submission and any purchase varies by stock lot. A clear, homogeneous lot with current information can usually be assessed more quickly than a large or mixed stock lot that requires additional verification.
The timescale is determined by factors including:
If new information or discrepancies arise during the assessment, additional time may be needed to re-establish the assumptions. We therefore make clear at each stage which information or decision is still needed before the process can continue.
An up-to-date stock overview and timely answers to specific questions help avoid unnecessary delays. The care taken in the assessment remains paramount.
Commercial stock
Stock & Trade coordinates the stock centrally throughout assessment and implementation. You have one dedicated contact who maintains the overview, brings questions together and explains what information, decision or practical action is needed.
Where specialist knowledge is required, colleagues from buying, logistics or other fields may be involved. Communication and follow-up remain centrally coordinated so that arrangements are not fragmented and changes are handled in the right place.
Please report changes in quantities, composition, condition, availability or planning as soon as possible. It is also important to be clear who within your organisation is authorised to confirm commercial and practical arrangements.
After every relevant stage, we share the current status and any outstanding points. This ensures that both organisations have the same understanding of the stock, the decisions required and the arrangements made.
Commercial stock
Once payment and transfer have been completed in accordance with the recorded arrangements, we add the purchased goods to our own trading stock. Stock & Trade then handles further commercial processing, individual sales transactions and customer service.
Your organisation does not need to sell the stock item by item or wait for the eventual sales results. Subsequent sales speed, proceeds and price movements have no effect on the purchase price agreed with your organisation.
In any onward sale, we comply with the recorded arrangements relating, for example, to confidentiality, destination markets, sales channels and brand presentation. Each organisation also remains responsible for the legal obligations that apply to its own role in the supply chain.

Questions and answers
We agree this for each transaction. Stock & Trade can coordinate collection, but the supplier or another carrier may also arrange transport. We record in advance who is responsible for preparing, loading and transporting the goods and for paying any transport costs.
Yes. If confidentiality, limited destination markets or conditions for sales channels and brand presentation are important, we discuss these in advance. Arrangements that form part of the transaction are clearly recorded before the stock is transferred.
