Within tools, Stock & Trade assesses five main product groups.
Hand and measuring tools
Hand tools, tool sets, measuring equipment and mechanical, digital or electronic measuring instruments for construction, installation, maintenance and workshop use.
Pneumatic, hydraulic and fuel-powered tools
Pneumatic and hydraulic tools and fuel-powered tools not intended for garden or grounds maintenance. Complete sets and corresponding sale-ready accessories may also be included.
Compact stationary machines
Mitre saws, table saws, band saws, pillar drills, bench grinders and similar commercially versatile compact machines. Heavy industrial machinery, welding equipment, compressors and lifting equipment fall within the separate Workshop equipment and machinery category.
Batteries, chargers, accessories and storage systems
Complete batteries, chargers and adapters, as well as independently saleable drill bits, driver bits, saw blades, grinding discs, abrasives, cutters and guides. Tool cases, bags, modular storage systems and other brand-specific transport solutions may also form part of the stock.

Complete tools, machines and sets
Stock & Trade focuses on complete tools and machines, complete resale-ready sets, and accessories or consumables that can be sold independently as end products.
A machine sold by the manufacturer as a standalone version without a battery, charger or case counts as a complete product. Conversely, if a part originally belonging to the model or set offered, or required for safe use, is missing, the product is considered incomplete.
Loose spare, service and repair parts and other components are not assessed as a separate product group. If an otherwise suitable mixed tool lot contains a limited proportion of incomplete products or loose parts, the complete stock may still be submitted as a whole.

Battery platforms, model generations and range changes
Tool stock may fall outside the current range when a manufacturer moves to a new battery platform, renews a product series, changes model or item numbers, or ends a product line. Rebranding, different packaging and range changes by importers, wholesalers or retailers may also create available stock lots.
Machines, batteries, chargers and accessories from an older product generation can still be assessed together or separately. It must be clear which platform or series the items belong to, which products are compatible and whether they can be sold independently.

Technical information for a targeted assessment
Where possible, state the brand, model or item number, production date, power source and technical version for each product. For electric and cordless tools, voltage, plug type and battery platform are also important. For tool sets, state which machines, batteries, chargers and accessories are included.
Information on serial numbers, CE marking, conformity documentation, manuals and any software, account or app dependency helps assess saleability by market. This information does not need to be complete at the first submission. Stock & Trade first assesses the overview provided and then requests only the additional data or documents required for that stock.

New stock and additional product conditions
The primary focus is on new tool stock. This may be sale-ready stock in its original packaging, as well as new products with opened, damaged or outdated packaging.
Customer returns, demonstration and showroom products, professionally refurbished tools, B-stock and used commercial tools may also be submitted. These products may form part of a mixed stock lot or be submitted separately.
Where the condition is not fully known or recorded, Stock & Trade first assesses the available information. We only ask additional questions about completeness, test status or technical condition where this is necessary for the particular lot.

Power sources and product safety
New tool stock may consist of electric and cordless machines and pneumatic, hydraulic or fuel-powered tools. During assessment, we consider the technical version, completeness, applicable safety features and suitability for the intended market.
For cordless machines, the battery platform and compatibility between machines, batteries and chargers are important. For pneumatic, hydraulic and fuel-powered tools, we consider the technical version and conditions for safe storage and transport.
Stock & Trade only requests additional technical or safety information where the product type or condition of the stock offered warrants it.

Frequently asked questions about selling commercial tool stock
Can electric or cordless tools be submitted without a battery, charger or case?
Yes. A machine sold by the manufacturer as a standalone version without a battery, charger or case counts as a complete product and may be submitted. If it is a set in which those parts were originally included, it must be clear which parts are present and which may be missing.
May a tool lot contain different brands, battery platforms and product generations?
Yes. Multiple brands, models, technical versions, battery platforms and product generations may be submitted as one commercial stock lot. Tools from a discontinued or replaced battery platform can also be assessed. It helps if each item shows its platform or product series and which machines, batteries and chargers are compatible.
Can batteries, chargers and tool accessories be submitted as separate stock?
Yes. Complete and independently saleable batteries, chargers, adapters, drill bits, driver bits, saw blades, grinding discs, abrasives, cutters and guides may be submitted. Tool cases, bags and modular storage systems may also form part of the stock. Loose spare, service and repair parts do not form an independent starting point.
What information is needed to assess tool stock?
An existing stock list containing brands, model or item numbers, quantities and product conditions usually provides a good basis. Where possible, also state the power source, voltage, plug type and battery platform. For tool sets, an overview of the machines, batteries, chargers and accessories included is helpful. The technical data and documents do not need to be complete at the first submission.
Can returns, demonstration items and tools with packaging damage be submitted?
Yes. In addition to new, sale-ready tools, new products with opened, damaged or outdated packaging may be submitted. The same applies to customer returns, demonstration and showroom products, professionally refurbished tools, B-stock and used commercial tools. If the condition has not yet been fully recorded, Stock & Trade first assesses the available information.
